We are so excited to bring you out for a packed week of fun in the mountains, and we hope you are too.
It is crucial to remember that whilst you are out with Wasteland Travel and your university, there is a level of conduct we expect from you. With that in mind, please take some time to read the below and understand what appropriate behaviour looks like on your trip.
To reiterate, we are here to provide you with a ski trip and a space to make memories with your mates. We are not here to act as a teacher on a school trip, and reserve the right to cancel your trip or ban you from future trips if you do not adhere to our requests of behavioural conduct:
Kindness & awareness
We expect you to treat others with respect, kindness and care, as you would like to be treated in return. This is including but not limited to
- Other trippers, whether they are a part of your group or not
- The WLT reps and head office who are here to keep you safe
- The general public
- The resort staff
- The locals, who welcome you into their home
- Our partners
The ski community thrives off care and looking out for each other. We ask you to bear this in mind when you are on your trip.
Caring for your environment
At Wasteland Travel we want to protect our playground – the mountains (and the planet). We ask you to be considerate of your environment, recycling everything you can, using the bins provided in resort, and generally keeping the mountains clean. By these small but collective actions, we are protecting the mountains for years to come, so that we can all continue to enjoy the natural wonders of the world.
Respecting the suppliers
We can only put on these ski trips because we have amazing suppliers who are dedicated to providing you the best accommodation, protection, food, and experience. After the dreaded C word (Corona), they have all taken a hit on their livelihoods, and supporting them is more important now than ever. Many providers have had negative experiences with large groups of students in the past, and we aim to reverse any negative perceptions to ensure students can keep having unforgettable ski trips. Please understand that the requests from those who are supplying you with aspects of your trip come from genuine concerns, and do your best to respect this. For example, if you are asked to clean up your apartment before leaving, ensure you do so. If the authorities give you a warning, listen to them. Do not disregard their rules, and you will have a much smoother experience.
Absolutely no inappropriate behaviour
We want you to be yourself, enjoy yourself, and make some lasting memories. However, other people are on these trips to do the same, so please leave any inappropriate behaviour at home, respect everyone around you, and show up as your best self. We do not accept disrespectful behaviour, and neither does anyone in resort, so to ensure you are welcomed back in the future, please avoid this.
The world is a better place when everyone is being their best self – let’s carry this through to the mountains, make ourselves proud and enable trips to continue for years to come.
